refined graphics
Please note that this project was completed using information that may be outdated at the time of viewing. Public perception towards the topic(s) incorporated may have changed over time, and great care has been taken to ensure that no person or community of people have been disrespected or misrepresented.
The task to reduce complex matters into simple, refined visual graphics commenced with a study of graphic forms and visual cognition. After an independent study of graphic art styles and potential complex topics, I was granted the opportunity to interview persons who identified with each of the 36 different DSM-specified mental health disorders and gather their personal insights towards their respective experiences. These were analysed and collaboratively visualised using a paper medium and a total of three shapes and two colours, and presented in a bound booklet.
